    1. Hi Katie,

Thanks! I purchased my topiaries and boxwoods at HomeGoods. They usually have a decent selection there and they are very affordable.

      Have a great weekend,

  5. Hi Courtney,
I came across your blog in search of ideas for my split level home, also in NJ. You have a beautiful home and I absolutely love your decor. You have inspired me to decorate my split in the same casual classic style. Can you tell me where I can find your dinning room set, I really like the chairs? I’ve searched everywhere for ladder back chairs for a reasonable price but haven’t had any luck. Thank you for such a wonderful blog and for sharing all your great ideas!

    1. Hi Marisela, Thank you so much for letting me know that you found some ideas for your home here. We purchased our dining room set from Raymour and Flanigan a few years back. I haven't been in the store in a while so I don't know if they have anything similar. I remember that the price was very reasonable compared to everything else we were seeing elsewhere. Hope that helps!

  6. Hi Courtney, I saw your winter foyer on Hometalk today (from 2011) but couldn't see the resource list when I clicked the link. Where did you find the red deer's head? Did you make it? It is so cute and unique. I'm in New England and will definitely follow your blog going forward. Your home is lovely and warm for your family. We have an English Bull Mastiff, so he's equal to a herd of some dogs! Happy holidays. Jeanne

    1. Hi Jeanne!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. So glad to hear you are now following along…Welcome!! I love English Bull Mastiffs. Such handsome dogs.

I purchased the red deer head at HomeGoods a couple of years back. I have seen other deer heads there this year, although none with the red sweater material.

      Happy Holidays!

  7. Hi! Love the blog. What is beige paint color throughout? Also, where did you purchase most your furniture, especially console table behind couch and two chairs by fireplace? Thanks!!!

    1. Hi Gia! Thank you for visiting. So glad you enjoyed my blog. The beige paint color in the family room is Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige. The plaid chairs by the fireplace are special ordered from Basset Furniture. The console table behind the couch is from JC Penney many years ago. Pretty much every piece of furniture comes from a different place so just ask about anything else :)

  10. Hello, i stumbled across your blog on pinterest and have become a follower. I am building a house a I am picking the same subway tile for shower and octagon and diamond for the shower and bathroom floor. My problem is the grout? What color did you use? How has it held up? I have been told unless you use dark grey or black tjen over time you will see mildew and soap scum build up in the grout. I dont know of i want to go that dark so I am wondering how your ligjter grey has held up and what it is called? I reallllllyy appreciate tour time  to answer!

    Thanks,

    Katey

    1. Hi Katey,
The grout in our shower is Silverado and on the floor is Delorean Grey. We haven't had a problem with either grout staining or any soap build up. We went darker on the floor for the reasons you mentioned. We keep the shower pretty clean. We wash down the walls with the hand shower after each shower in addition to regular cleaning. Hope that helps!

  11. I'm curious as to how you went about your IKEA hack vinegar and steel wool stain. I absolutely love the color that your table turned out to be. I completely replaced my table top and am trying the stain you did on your table. I've had white distilled vinegar and fine steel wool soaking in a mason jar for about four days now and it's still clear and the steel wool hasn't dissolved the slightest bit. What am I doing wrong?! Thanks! I really appreciate taking time to answer!! :)

    1. Hi Holly. I am sorry to hear the stain isn't working for you. I used regular plain steel wool from Home Depot and plain old distilled vinegar. I have actually done it more than once and it has always worked, even after a day. Did you try shaking the jar? The steel wool doesn't completely evaporate...Try shaking it and then applying it to a piece of scrap wood. Good luck!

  22. Hi Courtney,
I love your style and pictures! I also live in NJ and my husband was a trooper.

I love your Joy holiday sign with the wreath! How did you make it?
    Thanks,
    Sue

    1. Thanks Susan! We made that sign on a whim using an old wooden pallet we had laying around that we painted white. We cut the letters out of plywood using a jig saw. I created the pattern for the letters J and Y online at PicMonkey.com. Then we simply painted the letters red and attached a wreath for the "o". It was a super cheap and easy project that we have used during the holiday season for years now!

  29. Hello
I recently came across your 2020 Holiday Home Tour on Pinterest and I especially love your Kitchen decor! The fabric that is skirting the sink, was that purchased this year from Joann Fabrics? I love the pattern and tried to locate it on their site but did not see it.
    Happy New Year!
