Hello friends! I thought I'd share some pictures of fall at the cabin. Our little cabin in the woods of the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY is my very favorite place to be in this season. I had originally planned to stay for a couple of weeks as the leaves turned but life had other plans and so I got there when I could. This has been a season of change in so many ways and watching the leaves change and fall is definitely a reminder of how beautiful it can be to let things go.This was my first season to decorate our newly refreshed fireplace and so I started there. I layered a couple of garlands from Hobby Lobby and then added in dried hydrangeas and lights and some other natural items. I love how it turned out and am already brainstorming ideas for Christmas.
In the kitchen, we made a sink skirt and curtains from a clearance tablecloth we found on a clearance sale at a great little store in Keene Valley called The Birch Store. If you even find yourself in this neck of the woods, I highly recommend a stop there.
I have really enjoyed making bouquets from the garden. I planted lots of seeds with early fall in mind and it really worked out even better than I thought it would. I'm already planning next years's garden.
My friends at VHC Brands sent me some items for the cabin including the tea towel in the above picture and the adorable pumpkin pillows below.
Upstairs in the bedroom, we added in some fall colors in the form of bedding. The floral quilt is from HomeGoods this year and the duvet cover was a super soft Amazon find that is so cozy!
Now let's head outside to see some of our outdoor fall decor. Our front porch is the first stop.
Your cabin looks inviting and festive. So pretty! I love that you use the gorgeous, rich colors throughout and around the cabin that fall brings us each year. Definitely my favorite season. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been looking forward to your post.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! It's my favorite season too and it seems to pass by more quickly with each passing year.

DeleteI just love the fall decorating that you've done at your cabin! Also, I love the decorating at your home in NJ. The combination of colors and textures and materials is wonderful! I live in Arizona where we really don't have fall so I appreciate seeing it with your pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for your kind words about our home. Enjoy your warm weather in Arizona as we prepare for the long winter months ahead!

DeleteHi Courtney! I've followed you for some time and love both your NJ home and the cabin. However, this is the first time I noticed your MacKenzie Childs collection. Welcome to the group of rabbit hole residents. If you haven't already, you should join the MC Collectors Club on Facebook.. It's a great place for ideas. BTW I also live in NJ.
ReplyDeleteHi June! Yes!! I am a MacKenzie Childs brand ambassador so I am a huge fan/collector of their pieces. I will be sharing a Christmas post partnered with them in a few weeks. I will check out the group on Facebook. :)
