Hello friends! It's hard to believe it is time once again to post my holiday home tour! I have been hard at work getting our home ready for the holiday season and I'm happy to report that I think we're ready. Keep in mind, our house is full of kids and a spoiled dog and I hope that my photos reflect that, while I may clean things up *a bit* for pictures, a real family lives here so nothing is perfect. Let's start in our mudroom which is the space we all enter our home through and where our dog, Dax, is always waiting to greet us.
When I saw that Big Lots had a few Golden Retreiver items this year, I headed straight to the store to grab some. I think they add the perfect personal touch to our home for the holidays! The Golden holiday pillow and mat are new along with the plaid wreath from TJ Maxx. The small sleigh rides crate is from the Target Dollar Spot and the metal tree sign is also from Target. Everything else is from past years.Just off the mud room, you enter our family room. This is the spot where we hang out the most during the holiday season. I kept the colors classic this year with lots of red and green and plaid. Our Balsam Hill European Fir is in this room this year. This is my very favorite Christmas tree, it is big and full and screams Christmas! any place you put it.On the mantel, I added a couple of birch deer (new this year from Lowes) and a pretty new garland. The garland came pre-lit from Marshalls and then I added some matching ribbon that I also used on the tree along with more lights, pine cones and berries. I think that's the secret to store bought garland, keep adding layers until it feels like your own something special. I will probably even add some fresh garland in as it gets closer to hosting guests over the holidays. We have a new sign in this space this year from Gray House Design Company. I think it ties together the space so well.
I love adding pops of red in this space with the blue painted walls. Our living room is a brighter space that is connected to our kitchen and I enjoy having a more whimsical feel to this space at Christmas.
I love it! Your house looks like a real home, not a staged all white (or gray or beige) designer show house.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! It's definitely a very lived-in home and I wouldn't want it any other way. Happy Holidays!!
DeleteSuch a beautiful and festive holiday home! I really enjoyed your tour and your pup is the icing on the cake!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Dax is always my favorite part of any home tour too. Happy Holidays!!
DeleteSo so darling and very creative!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! Happy Holidays!
DeleteBeautiful! I know you use to have a tv over your mantel.... Where did you move it? I wish I had a better spot for ours!
ReplyDeleteGood eye! We recently moved our tv from there to the basement. During the colder months, we watch tv in our family room by the fireplace and that tv is on a smaller stand. Nobody misses the tv in the living room, yet, but it could return at some point! Happy Holidays!
DeleteSuch beautiful decorations! It all looks very festive and inviting! Love Goldens!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Happy Holidays!!
DeleteI literally poured myself another cup of tea when I discovered your tour was live today! I wanted to sit back and relax so I could take it all in. Gorgeous as always, Courtney! It's all so festive with the cheerful colors and pretty details. Great to see the sled is making an appearance again this year...a crowd favorite, I'm sure! Beautiful tour!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Shelley

DeleteHelloooooo sweet friend. Oh I love the big lots stuff with the goldens. How sweet and fun for your decor. Of course you never disappoint with your decorations for the holiday. Just beautiful. Think about you and hope you and Billy are good and the boys are doing well. Happy Holidays. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays, Kris! I am sending you and e-mail to catch up. Miss hearing about you and Teri and the girls too.
DeleteLove your Christmas decor!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Merry Christmas!!
DeleteYour house is just like a magazine! Can you tell me where you found the horsey tote under the new sign? I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. The horse tote was from a bookstore in Manchester, VT called the Northshire Bookstore a couple of years ago. They do have a website too.
DeleteHappy Holidays! Beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you too. Thank you!!
DeleteYour home is beautiful! And so cheerily decorated! I could move right in and start baking cookies! TFS!
ReplyDeleteOh great! I can use some help baking those Christmas cookies. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
DeleteI always love your home at Christmas, but this year is wonderful! I just want to come on over and shop your home! I love the way you have everything displayed, it all flows so well. I especially enjoyed when you said you live in your home. We have a pup who runs this household and they make a lot of messes. I am always trying to keep it all cleaned up, but unless people have pups, they have no idea how much work they create. Thank you for sharing your home at Christmas again! I always look forward to your posts!
ReplyDeleteThis comment made me smile, Cara! Yes, this is a very lived-in home and Dax is very spoiled and it's a lot to keep up with it all. Thanks for your kind words. Happy Holidays!!
DeleteLOVE IT!

Hi Jean! I found that throw at HomeGoods a couple of years back. They often have similar and they are the place I always look for throws first. Happy Holidays!!
