Welcome to our fall home tour! I have been busy adding lots of warm fall touches to our home to invite in the new season. I love the colors of fall and I always think my home feels coziest during this season. This year I am joining with a talented group of bloggers for a fall at home tour hosted by
A Stroll Thru Life. Thanks so much for including my home, Marty!
Let's begin the tour in the kitchen, the most popular spot in the house in all seasons. This is the hub of our home and the spot where the family, which includes our 3 sons and one super spoiled golden retriever, gathers every day. Our home started out as a traditional split level that we DIYed into an open floor plan home that suits our family's lifestyle much better than the original small and separated rooms did.
When it comes to fall decor, I am always drawn to classic colors. I love how the warm tones seem to glow in the late afternoon sunlight and I appreciate the copper pieces most in fall.
I always enjoy creating a new sink skirt for the season. I used a harvest plaid tablecloth to make this one. I made the "curtains" from dish towels that I purchased on Amazon.
Our kitchen is open to our upstairs living room. I love how much sunlight this big window lets in to both this space and the kitchen and I look forward to watching the leaves change soon.
Next, let's head down the front stairs, through the front entryway.
The family room is just off the entryway and is the coziest spot in the house in fall.
Finally, let's head upstairs to the primary bedroom and bathroom. Yep,
I decorate those for the seasons too!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I have also been decorating our cabin for fall and will be sharing that soon. I will hope you will stop back to see that. Be sure to check out the other homes in this fall tour for even more inspiration.
Next stop on the your is the beautiful home of Yvonne at
StoneGable. You don't want to miss her lovely fall decor. She has been a favorite blogger of mine for many many years!
Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTell me what Stay you purchased the apple quilt from, please?
How are you making your bed skirt? Details, PLEASE!!!!
alderson@udel.edu
Thank you for your kind words. The apple quilt was a vintage find from Etsy. The seller's name was SnowyCreekDesigns. My bed skirt was from Ballard Designs a few years back. I keep coming back to it each fall because I still love it. It is no longer available on the website, maybe try Ebay? I wish I had better sources for you!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words, Cindy. The rugs in front of my sink are both recent finds from HomeGoods. It's actually 2 rugs - I layered one on top of the other.
DeleteI love your home and your style. Reminds me of all the wonderful colorful and antique filled homes I loved in the mountain of Oregon when I lived there. Original Farmhouse that I truly love. Thanks so much for joining the tours again this season, your home is filled with tons of inspiration.

DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I wish I could have you decorate my whole house :). Could you please tell me where the quilts on your bed came from? Best color combo for fall!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The clay colored quilt is from Target this year. The mint and white quilt is the Ives quilt from Ballard Designs a couple of years back. I love that color combo too and use it throughout my house. Even of you can't find those exact quilts, you could definitely create a similar look with those colors.
DeleteI will try ;). Thank you for always sharing your beautiful home and your beautiful dog ❤️
DeleteI only have one more question;) where can I find a candle like the one you have on your living room table that is white & shaped like a pumpkin?

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely comment, that's exactly what I hope my home represents. Thank you!
DeleteI love your home! It is so pretty all decked out for fall. Best home and decor on the tour!
ReplyDeleteHey, Courtney--Such a lovely, cozy home you've gathered around you! If I had to pick a favorite thing it would probably be the beautiful blue of your bathroom vanity. How old is your golden? We have a rescued golden who we adopted at three--he's now 13 and sleeping next to me as I type. They leave a lot of hairballs around the house but I wouldn't trade him for anything!
ReplyDeleteHi Christy! I agree, goldens are the best! Dax is 5 years old. We've always had a golden (or 2) in our family and our lives are quite full of dog hair but we wouldn't have it any other way.
DeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one that decorates bedrooms and bathrooms! I adore your bright and cheery home. I think I pinned practically every room! Thanks for the fantastic tour and happy fall!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome, Cindy! I think my bedroom is one of my favorite places to decorate for the seasons.
DeleteLove your home! In a day and age where everyone seems to be going for all white and/or grey, your touches of color here and there draw us in. I think your home looks inviting and creates warmth while still being light and airy if that makes sense. This makes a house look like "home".
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words about my home. I love using color!
DeleteEverything looks so amazing for Fall! I love that you make a new sink skirt for the seasons!! All so beautiful! ~ Kristin | White Arrows Home

ReplyDeleteAs always, love your beautiful house and decor. I really like the small Hello Fall sing on the end of the kitchen island. Any idea where purchased?
ReplyDeleteI love how cozy and eclectic your home is. It is always a treat to see it and perfectly warm and inviting for Fall.
ReplyDeleteLike all other comments, I am in love with your master bedding...but even more, I love the bed. I looked back through comments and other posts and don't see a refence to it. Can you tell me where it is from? I have been searching for a poster bed similar to this one.
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your posts. I too have a golden and have had more than one for many years. Fall is just overflowing in my house at the moment. LOL I agree it does make everything feel cozy. I got an idea from one your post talking about your kitchen curtains. I made mine (no sewing) to match my bar stools. Roosters. My 3 children are in their 30s now but I'd like to think they enjoy the decor when when come over. ;)
ReplyDeleteI am sure they appreciate the decor. I know my boys do, especially as they have gotten older. Aren't goldens the best? Happy Fall!
DeleteI love your decorating style. Your kitchen layout and design is very similar to mine. The added pops of color on furnishings and decorations create a warm and a cozy home.
