Hello friends! Today I thought I'd share a few pictures of the cabin decorated for Christmas. We have spent the last several Christmases here and I was beginning to lose hope that we would be able to this year. Our oldest son is currently serving in the Army National Guard and I wasn't sure if he could be at the cabin for the holiday. Currently, it looks like he will be able to make a quick trip up to the cabin but I am trying not to set my hopes to high in case it turns out he can't. If not, we will celebrate the holiday at our home in NJ. The main thing is that we are able to be together if at all possible.
We had our first snowfall just after Thanksgiving and I was so happy to spend a weekend decorating the cabin in a winter wonderland.December 19, 2021
Christmas at the Cabin 2021
This is our first winter with the new kitchen island. I love having all this space for food prep! What a difference this has made in how the cabin functions for our family.
I added a small tree next to the kitchen fireplace with some cabin themed ornaments. Target had some adorable thermos ornaments in addition to metal cabins and lanterns. I even found a scrabble style ornament which represents playing board games at the cabin. So fun to add these to our collection!

Holiday Home 2021 - Part 2
Hi friends! Welcome back to our holiday home. Today I am sharing the rest of our holiday decor for this year. Let's begin in my favorite spot to decorate - the kitchen!
Every year I hang the same vintage sled over our kitchen island and decorate it in a new way. This year it has a paper village on it. I'm loving the charm this little village adds to our kitchen and I think it's fun that its will be flying over our island as we make memories all season long.
I worked with King Of Christmas this year and this is their pre-lit 7 ft King Noble Fir.
I wanted this room to have a nostalgic feel to it this year and the Emmie tree skirt from VHC Brands lends that heirloom feel I was going for. The Joy and Peace Pillows on the window seat and the Christmas is Love with all the Trimmings pillow on the bed are also from VHC Brands this year.
Thanks so much for visiting our holiday home this year. I will be sharing a post with cabin pictures soon. From our family to yours, we wish you a wonderful holiday!November 28, 2021
Holiday Home Tour 2021 - Part One
Hello friends! It's hard to believe it is time once again to post my holiday home tour! I have been hard at work getting our home ready for the holiday season and I'm happy to report that I think we're ready. Keep in mind, our house is full of kids and a spoiled dog and I hope that my photos reflect that, while I may clean things up *a bit* for pictures, a real family lives here so nothing is perfect. Let's start in our mudroom which is the space we all enter our home through and where our dog, Dax, is always waiting to greet us.
When I saw that Big Lots had a few Golden Retreiver items this year, I headed straight to the store to grab some. I think they add the perfect personal touch to our home for the holidays! The Golden holiday pillow and mat are new along with the plaid wreath from TJ Maxx. The small sleigh rides crate is from the Target Dollar Spot and the metal tree sign is also from Target. Everything else is from past years.Just off the mud room, you enter our family room. This is the spot where we hang out the most during the holiday season. I kept the colors classic this year with lots of red and green and plaid. Our Balsam Hill European Fir is in this room this year. This is my very favorite Christmas tree, it is big and full and screams Christmas! any place you put it.On the mantel, I added a couple of birch deer (new this year from Lowes) and a pretty new garland. The garland came pre-lit from Marshalls and then I added some matching ribbon that I also used on the tree along with more lights, pine cones and berries. I think that's the secret to store bought garland, keep adding layers until it feels like your own something special. I will probably even add some fresh garland in as it gets closer to hosting guests over the holidays. We have a new sign in this space this year from Gray House Design Company. I think it ties together the space so well.
I love adding pops of red in this space with the blue painted walls. Our living room is a brighter space that is connected to our kitchen and I enjoy having a more whimsical feel to this space at Christmas.
