Our tree in this room is packed with all of our favorite ornaments. Nothing trendy - no theme necessary - just lots of fun and memories.
I added a mix of vintage Shiny Brite ornaments along with some newer red ones to our lamps. I found these lamps at Target last year and you can fill them with whatever you like. I usually leave the empty but these ornaments are a fun addition for Christmas.
The snowy red barn painting is a new addition to this space and I think it will leave it up past Christmas to add some color to this space for winter. It is from Kirklands.com.
I added five small wreaths to the front windows. These are the same wreaths that I had hanging in my kitchen windows last year and when I found them again at Marshalls this year, I bought two more so all the windows would have one. I love the simplicity of these.
I also added a new rug to this space for the holidays and I love how it brightens the room! It is the Invergordon rug from Boutique Rugs. Mine us the largest size, 9x12. Use code GOLDEN55 for 55% off anything on their site.
We will be celebrating Christmas Eve right here in this room so I picked up the banner to display that day and I just had to try it out.
And no Christmas home tour of ours is complete without a Golden smile. Dax is missing Keeper something fierce, as we all are, but we are holding her memory close to our hearts and moving forward as best we can.
Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow, we'll be headed downstairs to the family room. I hope you'll be back.
I always love your hone, Courtney..thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to let me know, Beth!
DeleteI appreciate your philosophy of "no theme - nothing trendy"! Christmas is about memories and tradition and your living is beautiful inspiring example of that! I love the old books too - !!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristine!!
DeleteLove this! It is simply beautiful yet fun. I'm pretty sure that Dax is my favorite decoration!
ReplyDeleteThanks and Dax is my favorite, by far, too!!

DeleteForget Disney World, THIS IS THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! Our kitchen walls are the same color as your console table that is sitting in front of your window. Yes, when I painted it a couple of years ago, I went through the same thing you're thinking...what the poop?! Every year since, I struggle with what color works with that Tiffany Blue color at Christmas. I NEVER thought to use red. So you have just made my century! I did add a teeny bit of red to it this year but next year I am finally going all out and will not be afraid. I love love love your living room (okay, your entire home) and seriously think it's so happy and inviting. Merry Christmas! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! Still love it!
ReplyDeleteYES!! Red is the perfect accent with this color. You will love it. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteHi! That basket is the round beachcomber tray from Pottery Barn. Love it!
DeleteYour home is so lovely and welcoming, Courtney! I love the new rug, it is perfect in your space...and I am in love with the window wreaths!
ReplyDeleteI know you must all be missing Keeper terribly...xoxo

Thanks so much, friend!!! xoxo
DeleteLOVE! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! I love red and I use it in my home year round. This room makes me happy. There's no Christmas theme here either. The only thing is that I don't decorate as much the years that my son and daughter in law aren't here for Christmas. So, that would be this year. I just put up enough decorations that anyone would know that I decorated for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I would love to know the source for the red and white checked throw/blanket. I love it!
That blanket was from Target last year. Thanks so much for your kind words about our home, Ann!! Have a very Merry Christmas.
DeleteI love what you did and those lamps are so pretty with the christmas balls.
ReplyDeleteThanks Betty! I am enjoying those too this year and my wheels are already turning about what I can put in them in other seasons.
DeleteYou knocked it out of the park, Courtney! What a lovely, inviting home. Can you share info about your living room rug, please? Wishing you and your family Christmas blessings!
ReplyDeleteI just love your little blue table! Can you tell me where you got it? Did you paint it yourself? So sorry to hear about the loss of your family member! They bring us such joy and are missed so terribly when gone. Enjoy your Christmas!
