I use the term "dining room" super loosely because we are not a formal dining room sort of family. This is our everything table - family dinner, homework, craft projects, puzzles, gift wrapping - no formal place settings here.
The Christmas Tree Farm theme has become a classic for us. Several years ago, I painted the signs that are hanging over the mantel this year. They find their way into our holiday decor each year. As a blogger, I really do enjoy playing with new styles of holiday decor. This year I experimented with more bronzes and warm tones in our family room and I am loving it. I will be sharing that in the HouseWalk on Friday. But up here, it is all our traditional and collected items. This space is the heart of Christmas for our family this year.
This is the tree where our mish-mosh of family ornaments landed this year. I went with a sort of fair isle sweater vibe in here. The red and white tree ribbon is from Target.
I added a mix of plaids and knit pillows in the window seat. I would love to put our tree in front of this big front window because it would look great from the street all lit up at night. But, that doesn't really work for the floor plan in this space so it is in the corner of the room this year.
Our farmhouse hutch holds my collection of Christmas cookbooks and a few favorite momentos. And of course - a necessary staple for the holiday - our Bose speaker to listen to Christmas music.
We added these DIY shelves last year and I always enjoy styling them for the seasons.
I added a piece of garland to our lantern light chandelier and it made such a difference. I love small touches like that!
