Fall Home Tour 2016 - Kitchen

Farmhouse sink with caged light pendant and fall wreath - www.goldenboysandme.com
Welcome to our fall kitchen. It is great to get back in the kitchen after a summer spent outdoors and cook some yummy meals for my family. Our family spends lot of time gathered around our small kitchen island. And, of course, Dax needs to get in on the action by begging for a piece of apple.

I got the idea to hang this mason jar "chandelier" over the kitchen island in a magazine called "Living the Country Life". We aren't exactly living the country life in the suburbs of NYC, but I found some great inspiration on those pages.

I added some fall goodness to the 3 tiered stand on the counter. The pumpkin "curtains" are actually dish towels from HomeGoods.

I added a fall wreath to the window over the sink for some color. I am enjoying the Mrs. Meyer's new apple cider scented soaps.

It was fun to add some fall touches to the new shelves we recently added.

I kept things fairly neutral in the sitting area by the kitchen.

  8. I really love all of your touches, Courtney! The Mason jar chandy is so cool! I think its great that you have festive pieces here and there that don't 'shout' fall. Perfect. And wow, how I'd love to have room for a little sitting area in or near my kitchen. Even with an open floor concept sometimes I feel everyone is 'out there' and I'm stuck in front of the stove! lol.

Love Keeper's little spot. Habits like these melt my heart.

    Happy Fall!

  14. Your home is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I have just a couple of questions, if you would be so gracious to share? First of all, do you mind having separate hot and cold faucets in the kitchen? I love this style but have always hesitated for convenience reasons. Secondly, what kind of flooring do you have that can withstand dog traffic? And finally, how in the world do you keep up with the dog hair? Our son's golden has moved in with us and I feel as if I need to vacuum 5 times/day, which I really don't have time for. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!
