Fall Home Tour 2016 - Entryway

Colorful fall wreath displayed on chalkboard for fall decor in entryway - www.goldenboysandme.com
Hello and Happy (Almost) Fall! We are settling in back at home after Billy's surgery. Everything went extremely well and he is recovering slowly but surely. Today, I thought I would share a couple of pictures of our front entryway.

Our entryway is a small space and I like to keep it as functional as possible. I simply added a fall wreath to the chalkboard and left the "welcome" there. Sometimes, I am just don't have the time to create new chalk art and I have learned that this is an easy remedy for that.

The entryway is separated from our family room with 2 glass french doors. These doors were an after thought when we built our family room and they have turned out to be a very useful addition to this space. They keep our dogs contained when necessary. They are also useful for keeping the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There is so much energy loss in a split level and these help a bit with that.

I added a small bunch of sunflowers to the split log "basket" that I got from Joss & Main last Christmas. And I keep my boots at the ready for walking the dogs and to gather items to use as decoration in the home at this time of year. Things like branches of pretty colored leaves and hydrangeas to dry. As you can see from their wear and tear, these boots aren't just blog props. :)

Dax is waiting at the top of the stairs to welcome you in for the rest of our fall home tour. I hope you'll stop back to see more!

  1. Love the Welcome sign holding the wreath. It's perfect for changing the seasonal decor. May I ask where you purchased that black sideboard? I've been hunting for one just like it with the open bottom for baskets.

    1. Hi Nancie. Thank you! The black console was from JCPenney many years ago. I often see similar pieces on Joss & Main.

  2. Hi Courtney! Your entry looks lovely! Can't wait to see the rest of your home. I was wondering where you purchased your rug in the entry? And also I'm assuming the log basket is no longer available at Joss and Main? I knew I should've bought it last year! I too love your small black table that is holding the basket. It's the perfect size!

    1. Thanks Kristen! I just did a search for the log basket (it was called the Evergreen Basket) on Joss & Main and I can't find it either :( The small black table is from Target. It was such an affordable piece and I always seem to find a place for it. The braided entry rug is from Christmas Tree Shops.

  5. Hi Courtney, your entry looks so warm and welcoming. Love the wreath on the blackboard. Isn't it kind of funny how the blackboard has made such a return in all our lives. It's a long way from first grade! And when you add that beauty at the top of the stairs, your guests must really feel welcome..Have a wonderful day..Judy
