Last week, I found myself in Marshalls with the intention of looking at shoes. I was on the hunt for new boots for fall. On the way into the store, I told myself that I should not/would not go near the home stuff because I DO NOT need another throw pillow. Or mug. And yet I somehow ended up at the register with this pillow in my cart. And no boots. I spotted the pillow out of the corner of my eye and it was just so perfect that it had to come home with me. Plus, it cost significantly less than the boots I considered. And throw pillows just make me happier than shoes. I am weird that way. And that very same day, I also brought home yet another mug from Target. I love the "warm and cozy sentiment".
Forrest had a great time in the mountains this weekend. He ran around and played like a puppy. And if you look at him from his good side like in the photo below, you would never know he was sick.
I got my youngest boy, Matty, to sit still long enough to take a picture with me.
Then he was back to his new favorite activity, skateboarding. He is obsessed with it. I have spent many hours at the skate park near our house watching him practice. It scares me to watch him on the ramps, especially after a summer of learning just how fragile our brains really are. But, boys will be boys and I can't hold him back.
And here is a rare shot of our other golden, Keeper. She isn't a fan of posing for pictures either, but my middle son managed to get a good picture of her.
On one of our leaf peeping rides, Billy and I spotted this fireplace in the woods. The house that it once stood inside of is long gone, but the fireplace still remains. It is fun to think about what sort of family may have warmed themselves by this fireplace during a cold and harsh Adirondack winter long ago. And the blogger in me can't help but think about how I would decorate all that stone. Just gorgeous...and so much history.
It turned out to be a beautiful weekend for leaf peeping and I can't wait to share some pictures from a drive we took this past weekend.
I hope your week is off to a great start! Thanks for stopping by today.
Gorgeous! The pillow definitely "called" to you and is perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes!! It definitely called to me :) Thanks so much. Have a great day!
DeleteI am the same, whenever I go shopping for shoes or clothes I end up buying different things for home:-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and this fireplace in the middle of the woods - fantastic:-)
Greetings:-)
Hello! Glad to know I am not alone in my love of all things home :) Have a great week!
DeleteCourtney, I am absolutely smitten with your gorgeous blog! I just love all of your charming fall décor! And ohmygosh that fireplace, what I wouldn't give to have one of those outside! Too bad you can't just move it to your house lol. Have a great week, xoxo, Andrea
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea,
DeleteThanks so much for your wonderful compliment about my blog. And isn't that fireplace fabulous? Just sitting there in the middle of the woods. You’re right, I would love to move it to our house.
It is so beautiful there! And I could never have passed by that pillow either...
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda! The fall color up there always amazes me. Every single year. I just could NOT pass up that pillow :)
DeleteGorgeous leaves! I haven't seen anything like that here.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Thanks Brenda. Not too many leaves changing here in NJ yet either. Hopefully soon!
DeleteOne question...WHY wasn't I invited hahaha!? So pretty & soothing! Reminds me of northern "Pure Michigan" in the fall. Glad you had a great time friend & you're gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday, Courtney!

LOL. If only you lived closer, you would surely be invited, my sweet friend!! Thanks for the compliments. Have a great day too :)
DeleteCourtney, we must think alike because yesterday I went boot shopping and ended up at TXMaxx/Homegoods and bought 4 pillows! I bought 2 bright red and 2 dark red but will return 1 set when I decide which ones work. Well at least I plan to return a set - if I don't find a place for them. I just remember last year around Christmas trying to find red throw pillows for my son's bed and they were no where to be found. Now I have them ALL! LOL...Anyway, love your photos. The leaves seem to be pretty colorful up north. I sure hope the rain helped out around here. Still mostly green. Enjoy your week!

Hi Shelley,
DeleteWe definitely think alike. That is too funny. And if you don’t end up returning the “extra” set, that’s okay in my opinion. I like to keep a supply of throw pillows at the ready :)
The leaves are still pretty green here too. I was shocked to see such an explosion of colors in Upstate NY this past weekend. It was colorful way up in the mountains.
