I added a few fall touches to our front entry. This is our first fall with the black door and I am loving it. Our fall wreath really pops against it.
Forrest is waiting to welcome you! He is doing well, all things considered. Unfortunately, his tumor has grown larger and we are most concerned with his level of pain. Goldens can be very stoic and don't really let you know when they are hurting so we are watching him closely. He is still eating well and playing (and he still loves to have his picture taken!). He is enjoying lots of walks in the woods and car rides. We just adore this special dog and we are savoring every moment we have left with him.
I picked up the new door mat with the pick-up truck at Christmas Tree Shops. I added our initial to a fake pumpkin with a paint pen.
We are finally enjoying some cooler temperatures and things have definitely shifted around here. My mom continues to do well and I am noticing a new level of acceptance in my whole family, but most importantly, in her. More on that in a later post.
We have had a very dry summer so we aren't expecting a glorious show of colors on the trees this fall. Many trees are dropping dead brown leaves. We are forecasted to get lots of rain in the next few days. Although I am not looking forward to that, it is definitely needed.
I hope your fall is going great so far! If you'd like to check out our entire fall home tour, you can find it here.
As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by today :)
Your porch is so pretty. I should get busy with mine. I'm so sorry about your sweet golden. I had 3 golden retrievers that had cancer. Very difficult to see them like that. 🐕
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. Ugh, sorry to hear about your goldens as well. I've been reading so much about goldens and cancer and the statistics are frightening. It seems we are lucky to have gotten 10 years with Forrest. They are such wonderful dogs!
DeleteBeautiful, but for me it's your dog that makes the picture perfect!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shannon! I couldn't agree more!! :)
DeleteForrest is such a sweetheart...looks so handsome on your lovely porch. I really love the decor at the entry to the walkway, too...
ReplyDeleteCourtney,
ReplyDeleteYour front door and porch is so inviting and gorgeous. You did a great job. Love it all. So happy Forrest is still doing ok and you are getting more time all together. What a sweet and gentle creature. You can tell how sweet he is by looking at his eyes. Courtney I pray he has a lot of time with you still left. Adorable pic of him welcoming us all in.

Lovely as usual and your dog is beautiful! I am so sorry to hear about what he is going through. I can never find words to describe what dogs mean to us, it's indescribable and precious, so I hope he is comfortable and you can have as much time as possible with him.
ReplyDeleteLove the black door & the doormat & I hope your furboy is painless & enjoying fall!!! <3

I always love seeing how you decorate for fall - and Forrest is the perfect accessory! I hope he continues to feel well. I know you will be taking great care of him. Yes, I think you are right about the leaves this fall. It has been SO dry and I doubt the much needed rain we are getting this week will make much difference with the color. So disappointing because some years it can be so beautiful this time of year. Oh well. Glad to hear your mom is dong well! Enjoy the remainder of the week!

It's fun to decorate when you have a little something new, I like your black door. The wreath looks fabulous (I need to decide if I want to spend $$$ or make one). Love the door mat, too.
ReplyDeleteLove and prayers for Forrest and all of you. He looks great! I know he will get lots of love and have many wonderful days ahead...love is powerful. Sending good wishes.

so hard to watch them go through something you can't help them with. I'm so glad that he is still able to be himself and enjoy. He looks wonderful. Any home with a beautiful or should I say handsome golden, so welcoming. Please give him a big kiss for me! Sending you Golden hug and love from our house to yours! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeanette. He is really acting like himself so much that it is hard to believe he is sick. Hugs to you too!!
