We have had a bitter cold winter here in the Northeast. It hasn't been nearly as snowy here in the NY area as it has been up in Boston, but it has been freezing cold. And I am over it. So, on a recent sunny day, I took a trip to Trader Joe's and bought some pretty flowers to remind me that spring will get here. Eventually.
Trader Joe's in my favorite source for affordable fresh flowers. I purchased two different bouquets of assorted flowers and put a few of my favorites in this cluster of small glass vases. I corralled them all on a galvanized tray. Aaahhh...spring on my coffee table.
I used the rest of the flowers for a bouquet for our master bathroom. While I was out, I also picked up this clock at Marshalls for a shelf in the bathroom. Now I will know what time it is when I am rushing to get ready in the morning.
As I am typing this, they are talking on the news about the "Siberian Express" which will be bringing yet another mass of frigid air to our area. From Siberia! Let's turn off the tv so we don't have to listen to that.
Oh, and just don't look out that front window at all the snow outside. Let's just stay in here and pretend it is Spring.
Which reminds of a picture I recently found on Pinterest that I loved because it reminded me of my pups.
I couldn't agree more!
I am craving spring too Courtney! Your flowers are so cheery and colorful - just what I need to see as I look out my window at the result of last night's storm. But the quote is true because we will REALLY appreciate spring when it gets here. Love the doggie photo -so funny! Stay warm!

Doesn’t this feel like the never ending winter? I think we picked up another 6 inches or so of snow with this last storm. Ugh! Hope you are having a great weekend.
DeleteTake care,
Courtney
Courtney, this week has been treacherous in WV, only a taste of what MA and NY have had. One thing I am very curious about in your area - has the USPS delivered through it all for you? Ours chose NOT to deliver 2 out of the last 5 days, and it made me wonder about the northeast. It sure doesn't make me wonder why the USPS is broke though.
ReplyDeleteHi Rita. I saw the weather you guys have been getting on the news. I think the main difference is we are used to dealing with snow and ice up here (even though we complain about it!). The USPS delivers everyday, unless it is an extreme blizzard. They have chains on the tires on the mail trucks in snowy weather. We haven't missed mail delivery any day this year. I remember the old saying that the USPS delivers in rain, sleet, snow, etc. but I guess times are changing.
DeleteYes, it's been crazy cold and wintery in KY too. A total of at least 14" over the past week and when my husband left for work Friday morning, it was -15*. We're just not used to this here...
ReplyDeleteUgh! Sorry to hear you are dealing with the cold too, Tracey. The negative number temps are just downright painful, right? On the plus side, you will probably see spring in KY way before us in NJ :)
DeleteYup, I am done here, too, Courtney! I want to put out some Spring and Easter décor. Maybe today, as I don't look out the window at the snow and ice! : )
ReplyDeleteI am with you on the Spring decor, Kathy. Just yesterday I looked at the calendar and realized Easter is in early April (I was thinking it was later this year for some reason) so I could start decorating soon.
DeleteWe are all in the same boat: craving Spring and needing flower therapy! I pinned the same picture:) We got 6 inches of snow yesterday but then freezing rain and our streets are a sheet of ice.....not good!
ReplyDeleteYeah, ice is not good. Snow, I can deal with, but ice scares me. Stay inside and stay warm and safe!

Good Morning Courtney,
ReplyDeleteI am with you on wanting a thaw and Spring to come. Love your spring on the coffee table. I am pinning that to my "Just Pretty" board. So sweet. Love the pup pic you found I think you need to get your pups some hats like that lol! Stay warm. Loved everyone of your sweet spring pictures today.
Kris
I'm loving your sweet vignette, Courtney...I love flowers and I love trays! I've been buying tulips lately, they last a long time. It's been freezing here in Illinois. Going down to -9 at night and I hear we will have that all next week. I just use winter as a kick start to get my home clean and organized so I have a guilt free summer of doing nothing!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I love it!
Jane x
Hi Jane! So glad you found my blog :) Looking forward to getting to know you better. I love tulips too. Maybe I will pick some of those up this week as it is going to be very cold here as well.
DeleteHave a great week,
Courtney
Your table looks so pretty with the tray and flowers! My girlfriend from Fairport, NY came and spent last week with me here in Dallas. Luckily it was beautiful while she was here. We were able to go to the arboretum and soak up some sun. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacey! Aaaahhh a trip to the arboretum sounds delightful right about now. I am sure your friend from NY really enjoyed that. Have a great week :)

Courtney, you know I had to pin that last pic even though I can't say from this end the same thing. I agree more with Anne Bradstreet. We are still in the throes of "Sprinter" here but are expecting rain this coming week. Still, your flowers would liven up any type of weather as they are such a bright spot and so pretty...Happy Sunday..Judy
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, Judy! Isn’t that dog picture so cute? It made me smile. Have a great week!
DeleteI couldn't agree with you more! I just did the same thing yesterday and picked up some pretty tulips to put in our rainy (no snow in GA) window sill! Happy pre-spring!
ReplyDeleteHappy pre-Spring to you too! I think you will see Spring a bit before us though :)
DeleteThis is so pretty, Courtney...and I have to admit...spring decorating is showing up in my home, too! This time of year, I start to need it!
