Happy (almost) February! We are one month closer to Spring. I always enjoy the bareness of the house for the first couple of weeks after the Christmas stuff goes away, but then it starts to feel a bit bland and I start pulling things out of the basement. I put the "fresh baked pies" sign from World Market back over the sink and added a couple of faux rosemary topiaries that I picked up at Ikea on either side. I think they are the perfect size for a window sill.
I decided to leave the candle chandelier over the island after Christmas. We are considering adding a more permanent (and wired) light source over the island, but for now this fills the space nicely. I added a heart garland from the dollar spot at Target for Valentine's Day.
I also added a heart garland to the mantel shelf over our range.
Our microwave used to be on the shelf above where it sits on the counter now. I took it down to clean it and decided to leave it on the counter. I like the look of the open shelves.
I also changed things up a bit on the side of the fridge cabinet. I will be sharing more pics of that soon.
January has been a month full of organization around here and I will be sharing more about that soon.
Looks beautiful Courtney. I love the touches of red and the adorable sign in the window! We may be one month closer to spring but have you looked at the forecast for tomorrow?!! Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Courtney,
ReplyDeleteI love all your sweet touches of Valentine's Day. Love the Fresh Baked Sign on the window too. Have a wonderful week end. We are suppose to get up to 14 inches possibly starting tonight here in the Chicago area. Ughhh! Stay warm by you.
Kris
Hi Kris,
DeleteI hope you didn’t get too much snow. Unfortunately, it is headed for us after you. I agree, uhhhhh!!! Hope you are staying warm and enjoying your weekend.
Courtney
I love your kitchen and those sweet valentine touches. Di @cootage-wishes
ReplyDeleteThank you, Di!
DeleteYour kitchen is so pretty, Courtney...love how you styled the windowsill area! So fun that you can bring in a touch of red and make it feel festive for Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Linda! I always love to add a touch of red whenever I can. Have a great weekend!

Your home just right. I could so easily live there. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the container that holds your soaps on the left side of your sink. Do you remember where you got it?
Thank you!! The small "savon" metal container that my soap is in is from Sur La Table.
DeleteThanks for letting me know. I'm sad to say they must not carry it any longer. I've searched high and low and don't find it on their current website. Drat!
DeleteCourtney, your kitchen is really beautiful. I love the farm-house sink and really regret that I didn't put one in and the big window lets in so much light. It is very bright and cheery..Happy Sunday..Judy
ReplyDeleteThank you, Judy! I do enjoy how bright our kitchen is. But, like you, there are changes I would make if I could do it all over again. Happy Sunday! Courtney
DeleteCourtney. I too love your kitchen and think I might cook and bake all day in there! I still am attempting to talk my husband into taking our microwave from over our stove and putting in a pretty vent hood similar to yours. Please channel good thoughts my way on that one! I would love to know where you found your mug/drying wrack.....I need one!!!!
ReplyDeleteAndrea, channeling lots and lots if good thought for your project!! That is one of my very favorite things we have done in this house. The mug rack is from World Imports and I do agree that you need one :) Have a great week!
DeleteHi Wondering where you got the light above your sink?!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the light above your kitchen sink? That is amazing and would be perfect in my house!
ReplyDeleteThe light above our sink is from Target a few years back.
DeleteLove your kitchen! Wondering where you bought the "fresh pies served daily" sign in your window? It is soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteHi! Thank you!! That sign is from World Market.
