I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. We are spending the weekend finishing up our Christmas decorating and *maybe* I will find some time to do some online shopping. But, I am most excited to start sharing the Christmas decor that we already have up. Welcome to our Christmas entryway! This is the first place our guests see when the they enter our home so I thought it should be the first of our Christmas decor to share. Come on in!
Our entryway is a small space just to the left of our front door. When I purchased this red bookcase at Target last year, I could already see how perfect it would be at Christmas. I love to decorate with red all year round, but especially at Christmastime.
It is always fun to decorate our DIY chalkboard with the seasons. I made the birch bark wreath (more about that project soon) and then added some chalk art around it. I printed the words Joy and Peace on my printer and then traced them onto the chalkboard.
I purchased the deer head at Target just after Christmas last year. I tried adding a scarf to his neck but I thought it looked too busy. Maybe I will try hanging a couple of ornaments from his antlers because he is looking a bit plain.
Below is the view of the entryway from the family room.
Our Advent calendar (Target last year) and some plaid blankets decorate the bookcase.
On the upstair's railing hangs our "Christmas Through the Years" garland. I created this last year with every year of our Christmas cards since we got married. This year we will add our 19th card :)
The entryway sets the tone for all of our rustic Christmas decor. Want to see more of our holiday home? Here are some links:
