Columbus Day weekend in the Adirondacks might just be my very favorite weekend of the year. The leaves were a bit past "peak", but they were still gorgeous. This gazebo is down by the lakefront portion of the town of Schroon Lake, NY.
This path leads down to the Boathouse Theater and the public town docks.
Around the corner from the town beach, there is this old bed and breakfast called Woods Lodge that has been abandoned for years. It is always one of my favorite spots to take pictures of in the fall, and to look at from the lake in the summer. It had been for sale for quite a while and Billy and I had fun dreaming & scheming of what we could do with the property if only we had the large funds available to bring it back to life. Someone purchased it last year and it will be exciting to see what they end up doing with this landmark. We hear they have big plans.
We spent lots of time relaxing. I read the book "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed and I was totally engrossed in the story of her hike up the Pacific Crest Trail. When I came home and looked up the author's website, I learned that they are making a movie about this book that will be out later this year.
And I got to catch up on some magazine reading too.
Found lots of inspiration...just need to find the time to do some new projects :) So tell me, what is new with you? Have you read any great books or magazines lately?
So beautiful! I can't believe they are already past peak up there...still gorgeous though! We still have a lot of green around here. I need to catch up on some reading too...I spend too much time on the internet!
