Keepin' it real in our master bath

We "may" have been getting a bit lazy about keeping things in their place in our master bath.  You know all those things that don't appear in a magazine photo shoot but are necessary items in an actual bathroom?  Like toothbrushes, mouthwash, toothpaste, etc.  They were collecting all over the top of our countertop and it was not pretty.  I headed to HomeGoods in search of some way to keep everything organized and yet still easily accessible.  I found this 2 tiered stand in the kitchen aisle and I thought it could work.

It certainly isn't as pretty as a vase of gorgeous hydrangeas, but it is really working well to keep us organized.  Plus, it keeps all of our toiletries up off the countertop so I don't have to worry about damage to the carrera marble.  I considered purchasing a pretty glass bottle to store our mouthwash in, but decided against it.  I decided I really didn't have the time or patience for that!  So the Listerine bottle sits in the back of the stand.

I am still keeping my makeup in the vanity drawers and my hair items (blow dryer, hairspray, etc) in the baskets below the vanity.  I talked about organizing those items in this post.  That system has been working well.

Over on the tub side of the room, I have been enjoying the over-the-tub shelf the kids gave me for Mother's Day.  I love to read in the tub so this has been perfect.
