Today, continuing on the fall tour of our home, we are upstairs in the kitchen/dining/living room area of our split level home. Our family room is the coziest spot, but this ends up being the place we spend a majority of our time. This space is lighter and brighter.
Everyone who visits says our hutch looks so much better painted. Guess I should have done it a long time ago. When they say that, it reminds me of when I have lost weight and people tell me I look so much better now...and all I can think about is how terrible I must have looked before! Yes, I am projecting my own insecurities onto my hutch. OK, moving on now :)

All of our accessories show up much better with the white hutch. The faux antler is from World Market and the dish towel in the basket is from HomeGoods. Both were recent purchases. Everything else has been around for a while.
In the dining room, I kept the blue and white curtains and added a few orange touches. I also removed the lampshades from the chandelier just to change things up a bit.
The "count your blessings" sign was a recent HomeGoods find. I had been planning to make a sign for this spot but when I saw this one, I thought it was perfect and it cost less to buy it already made than it would have to buy the materials to make one. Sometimes, I take the easy route. Not too often according to my husband :)
Over in our kitchen, I just added a new tiered stand from World Market.
The light that shines in our kitchen windows is the prettiest at this time of year.
In the living room, I kept the striped drapes that I originally purchased for my son's room. I added a large wreath to our front window and a few throw pillows in fall colors. This is my first year having so many gray accents and I thought I would put them away for fall, but I ended up leaving them...and liking it.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have you seen our other rooms decorated for fall yet? If not, here are the links.
Courtney, I can't get over how much I love your home! All of your fall touches are gorgeous...I am so inspired to go shopping now!

Just perfect. I really love the wreath hanging in the window. It just glows there.
ReplyDeleteMy house is a lot like yours but I have a wall between my kitchen/dining room and livingroom. I meant to knock it down but then my hutch that is on that wall will be next to the fire place. Love your island and bar area, not sire if I have the space for both. Can ihace the dimensions of the room please? Hutch wall to fridge and French doors to big window. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing and wonderful to visit your site. Thanks for sharing this information, this is useful to me...
