This time of year, I am always trying to come up with new ideas of things we can grill. We are tired of the usual BBQ roundup of burgers and grilled chicken. Last week, we tried these flatbread pizzas and they were yummy and easy and so versatile. Here's a list of what you'll need to make these:

Clear Eyes, Full Hearts (Back to School Entryway)
School starts very soon around these parts so I put together a little "back to school" decor in our entryway. On the chalkboard (you can read about how we created it here), I wanted to put some sort of an inspiring message for my boys as they head out the door to start a new chapter in their school lives. I have always loved Coach Taylor's quote from Friday Night Lights. Did you love that show as much as I did? I think Tami and Eric Taylor are just about my favorite tv couple of all time.

Our Bathroom in Print (Better Homes and Gardens Kitchen and Bath Makeovers)
**To read lots more about our master bathroom (including sources), check out this post.
Yesterday, my youngest guys and I were browsing through Target when we came to the magazine aisle. This was after spending a half hour in the video game, movie, and books aisle "just looking". These last few weeks of summer are wearing me down...no more vacations and a husband who is working every. single. day for the rest of the month. I spotted the new issue of the magazine that did a photo shoot at our home last October. Secretly, I don't think I really believed the article would ever actually be published. I opened it to the bathroom section and there I saw the words "it's full of boys" and I knew that those words meant us!
My little guy was so proud of his mama and that his been my favorite moment of this whole experience :) Middle boy mentioned that it was very fitting for me to see our house in a magazine at Target since I spend so much time there it is like my second home. He's a funny one. When I first shared pictures of our master bath last year on my personal scrapbook of a "blog", I never imagined the road that would lead me down. A feature of our master bathroom can be found in the Fall/Winter issue of Kitchen and Bath Makeovers by Better Homes and Gardens, on newsstands now. There is also a digital edition available here.
It seems surreal to see a space that I use everyday all prettied up by a stylist and photographed by a talented professional. It was exciting to get to read what the writer, Jorge S. Arango, had to say about us and our DIY bathroom. I felt like he really "got" our family. It was a thrill to watch the photographer, John Bessler, work. Best of all, Marie McCartan, the magazine editor, said that I have "savvy shopping skills" in her editor's note, which really is just affirmation to my husband that he should just trust my shopping habit, right? :)

For other bloggers out there, if you ever have an opportunity to have a magazine come to your house for a feature, I highly recommend it. The guys that came to my house were down to earth (and funny!) and gave us a little bit of insight into how the magazine world works with their stories. It was an experience we will never forget.

World Market Comes to NJ
When we were on vacation on the beginning of July, I was looking at Instagram and saw a post from Shelly at Calypso in the Country saying that she was with her adorable boys at a new World Market in NJ. Say what!?! We haven't had a World Market anywhere near our neck of the woods before and this was practically the best news I had this summer so far. In the past, I have ordered a couple of things from their website. Like this side table in our master bedroom.

Summer Changes in the Living Room
We are at that midway point of summer when I start itching to get some stuff done in the house. The kids have been home for over a month and their stuff. is. EVERYWHERE. I start to crave some order in the house. One recent afternoon, all of the kids were out of the house so I straightened things up and took some pictures...my idea of a relaxing afternoon. I think it might have stayed this way for five minutes after they got home :)
