Our Pool and Patio

Welcome to our pool, the most popular spot at our house for the Summer.  This year, we (meaning Billy) spent the late Spring adding french drains around the pool area.  It was a very labor intensive job and so we are more determined then ever to enjoy our pool this year.

We had to make some changes to the furniture this season.  Our wooden Adirondack chairs had rotted so we had to get rid of them :(  I miss them already and hope to find an all weather wood replacement for them in the future.  For now, we are making do with a couple of chairs from our old dining set that was by the pool.

Speaking of our outdoor dining set, it blew over last year and the glass table shattered into about 10 million pieces.  It was a nightmare to clean up and I am still finding pieces of glass from it this year.  This year, we decided that we didn't really need a space to eat by the pool, so we added a conversation area with some all weather wicker from Lowes.  It is the Garden Treasures Severson wicker love seat, two chairs and table

 We chose this set because it was affordable and also comfortable to sit on without the added cushions. Confession: Sometimes I am just too lazy to drag the cushions out of the shed.  We purchased the blue cushions from Christmas Tree Shop and the bird throw pillow is from Lowes.  The other throw pillows we already had.  The outdoor rug is from Christmas Tree Shop.

We picked up 2 of these concrete trough planters at Lowes.  They are extremely heavy and were a nightmare to get home, but I love them :)  It was Billy's lucky day when we went back to buy one more and they were sold out at our local Lowes.

Our outdoor shower has been getting lots of use, too.  We created the shower from PVC fence panels a few years back.
