We finally got to install our new chandelier! Which {of course} led to a few more changes in the dining area of our kitchen. I have been searching for a chandelier for a few months. It had to be the right size and shape and not break the bank. I loved the Armonk chandelier by Pottery Barn, but it seemed too big for our regular height ceilings. And the price tag was a bit too high. Oh how I dream of high ceilings!
Pottery Barn Armonk chandelier
The chandelier we ultimately chose is the Brondy by World Imports. It was the right size and the right price. It had similar lines to the Armonk, but on a smaller scale. I thought I would keep the shades off, but I tried them after it arrived and we like them. I also like having the option to be able to remove them to change the look.
One new thing in a space just always leads to more changes, right?. I am always reminded of the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie book that I read over and over to my boys. So...I also added some touches of blue and white to this space. I picked up the new curtain panels at Target (Medallion by Threshold). The Ikat place mats are from TJ Maxx and the blue bowls are from Christmas Tree Shops.
I have gotten a few questions about Christmas Tree Shops . If you don't have one near you, they are a chain in the Northeast that sell a variety of bargain items, including many seasonal items. It is always a fun place to visit.
Here's a quick list of the things you see pictured. Feel free to e-mail me if I have forgotten anything.
Curtains: Target-Threshold Medallion

Ikat Place Mats: TJ Maxx

DeleteHave been enjoying your blog the last couple weeks! I loved the look of your curtains so much, that I just had to go to Target and get some. I've got a lot of the Pottery Barn indigo blue pillows and also some gray pillows in my living room and thought these curtains would look great. Thank you for sharing your home.

I have a beautiful navy blue linen headboard from Joss and Main......and have been searching for something that would compliment it! This is it! I am also going to have to use the same wall color that you did! Thanks so much for the inspiration! Just beautiful!
