This year, I made a pallet sign to hang above our mantel. Isn't that a fabulous quote by Emily Bronte? It's exactly how I feel about Fall! I transferred the letters (printed from Picmonkey) onto the pallet wood using chalk, and then filled them in using a paint pen. It was so easy. I have no idea why I waited this long to make a sign. I then stenciled some leaves on. Our stone fireplace is the focal point when you step into the front door of our home so I love how it is screaming "Happy Fall!"...
I always love to add some birch logs in whenever I can.

DeleteGorgeous mantel and fall decorated cozy "living" room! Everything looks so well put together and yet so "family" oriented (looks like a family actually lives there) which I mean in a good way! Such a welcoming space! I went and checked out your Fall Tours as well which were lovely - Matty is so smart, of COURSE, you need to light the candles! LOL

Thanks so much!! Yes, my family does live here, and I know exactly what you mean. Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!
DeleteCourtney my husband and I are building a new home and I love the style of your fireplace. Does the dry stack stone have a specific name or color and I love the pieces outlining the fireplace as well. Maybe we can find those colors here in texas. Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteWe used Owens Corning Cultured Stone for the fireplace. The style is "Country Ledgestone" and the color is "Chardonnay".The stones around the fireplace opening are called "Trimstones" and the color is "Taupe". I am sure you would be able to find them in Texas. Good Luck!!!
DeleteThanks!!!!
DeleteSuch a lovely home you have Courtney! You must be so happy there. And the surroundings are heavenly! I love the mountains too. For that matter, I love nature. Period.

DeleteYour home looks so inviting! I was wondering if you could tell me where you get your birch logs. I have been trying to find some to no avail. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, Thanks so much for your kind words about our home. There are lots of birch trees in the woods near our house so that's where we find them. I did recently see some bundles of them for sale at Marshalls. Good luck finding some!

DeleteLove your style and how you decorated your family room for Fall! So warm and cozy and yet not over the top (sometimes less is more)! I even perused your blog and also love the look of your kitchen. Do you know the name of the granite used on your counter tops?
ReplyDeleteHi and thank you. The granite in our kitchen is Giallo Napoleon. Hope that helps!

ReplyDeleteWow, absolutely stunning photos! You've created some beautiful ambiance here. I especially love how you incorporated the Fall foliage onto the fireplace mantle. Speaking of fireplaces, if you're in need of keeping your fire tools (including log pokers) sharp I would definitely recommend checking out DMT's kitchen bench stone, which is an excellent multi-purpose product that can be used around the house. Hope this helps!
