Our kitchen was the first big DIY project we did when we moved into this house. I knew I wanted a farm sink. Because it was a total DIY job, we were nervous about cutting the sink cabinet to the correct size, but my husband did a fantastic job. I love having the 3 windows over the sink that look out onto our yard. The kitchen is definitely where I spend the most time.

Some of my favorite items include this hand painted salt keeper and measuring spoons, both gifts from my mother. |

Our kitchen island is where all the action happens. The Ikea Hack bookshelves I recently posted about added some much needed storage as well as serving as a room divider and bar seating area. I had it to do over, I would invest in a bigger stove and better hood. I love to cook. That is on my wish list for my next kitchen!

I hope you enjoyed seeing our kitchen!
Your kitchen is beautiful. I love the colors you are using to accessorize. The island is wonderful and so is the room divider. Bet you love all those shelves!!

DeleteWhat do you mean "DIYing a farm sink"... how is that possible! I am so intrigued I can hardly stand it. Your kitchen is gorgeous - I was going to tell you I LOVE your farmhouse sink... been dreaming of one for years. I also love all the fabrics in your dining nook and on your curtains. Such an awesome space!! Amazing job on it:)

Krista,
DeleteI LOVE farm sinks too. What I meant by DIYing a farm sink is installing one. It's a bit complicated because you have to cut the cabinet front to fit the sink, and build a brace inside the cabinet to hold the weight of the sink, but we tackled the job and are proud of how it turned out.
Thanks for visiting!

ReplyDeleteHi Melissa,
DeleteThanks for visiting. I LOVE wreaths (obviously!) :) The wreaths above the sink and on the mirror are from HomeGoods.

DeleteAbsolutely beautiful! I love the farmhouse sink & the measuring cups on wall :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura!
DeleteTwo things....the calendar looks familiar, what calendar is it? And the measuring cups that are hanging on your wall, where are those from? Okay three things...do you know where I could purchase the measuring spoons as well? Sorry to bug you, as you are a very busy bee! I have zero budget but a few things like that, which I love would be a start. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi there! The calendar is Susan Branch and I just love all of her stuff. Both the hanging measuring cups and measuring spoons on the stand were gifts that were given to me. I found the measuring spoons on Amazon and Food Network (search for Paula Deen measuring spoons), but they are pricey at $79. My mom had seen them in Paula Deen's kitchen on her show and knew I would love them. I cannot find the measuring cups online, sorry!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!

I've already pinned this image (as well as your master bathroom!) for future reference! You have a great eye for design! Thanks in advance!

Bathtub Refinishing
love, love, love the windows over the sink, were there three windows when you bought the house or did you have to add in extra windows? I'm trying to decide if I can live without upper cupboards on either side of my sink and add extra windows instead, it looks amazing!
